It’s 36 days since a section of pilots belonging to Air India went on strike putting the money-losing airline into a tailspin.
But there’s no end in sight to the strike called by the Indian Pilots Guild union.
The pilots’ union called the strike to protest a move to train pilots from the erstwhile Indian Airlines on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner that’s shortly to be inducted into Air India.
Besides inconveniencing thousands of passengers on international routes, the strike has also worsened the financial position of the airline, which is owned by the Government of India.
